Al Hodys, JD
I came to Rightirement Wealth Partners following a legal career counseling individual and corporate clients for over 25 years. Throughout my career I have had success serving as a trusted strategic advisor. I’ve worked with senior executives to address and resolve complex issues in business and take pride in the strong personal relationships I’ve developed with colleagues at every level of the organizations in which I’ve worked. My experience in the board room prepared me well for my transition to providing financial guidance to families.
At Rightirement, I apply these professional and personal experiences to develop practical strategies to help my clients achieve their goals. Each of my clients have unique needs and my legal background helps me to bring recommendations that may otherwise not be considered. I moved into the field of financial planning because I take joy in helping others excel in life.
This commitment to helping others is further exemplified by my 9 years of service to the Rye Neck Union Free School District Board of Education—1 year as its president, 3 years as its vice president, and 7 years as the Chairman of its Audit Committee. I still serve as the Community Representative to the Audit Committee. Personally I also give my time as a member of the Bonnie Briar Country Club Long Range Planning Committee. Professionally, I am a member of the Westchester County Bar Association and its Trusts and Estates Section, the Estate Planning Council of Westchester County and the Financial Planning Association—Greater Hudson Valley Chapter based in White Plains.
Prior to Rightirement, I served as General Counsel to NES Associates, a consulting firm to various federal agencies, which was acquired by General Dynamics in 2018. I also worked for several predecessor companies to NES Associates since 1999. Before that I practiced law at two Manhattan law firms from 1989-1995 and then opened my own general practice in 1995. I received my law degree from St. John’s University School of Law and I have been licensed to practice in the State of New York since 1989. I graduated with honors from Tufts University with a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Political Science.
My wife Debbie and I have been married for 20 years and we have two children: Cole and Julia. They attend Rye Neck High School in our hometown of Mamaroneck. Cole will be a freshman at Northeastern University in the fall. I enjoy golf, tennis, playing my guitar, and sharing good times with my friends and family and our dog, Sutton.
